MATCH REPORT

Today we played against Doveton at our new home ground in Clayton. Again we had to deal with an across the ground wind which made things tough. First quarter we got away to a slow start with Doveton showing us how to play link up team footy. With our defence under pressure from fast ball coming in they did well to hold up, Dasha made a couple of very good spoils, we went in at quarter time behind by 3 goals. At quarter time we addressed our stoppages and midfield set ups and to the midfield's credit we were able to lock down a bit and start working back into the game during the second quarter.

Third quarter was a scrap again but we started to played some really good team and structural footy especially from Cam and Aaron to get us within 6 points at the last break. Going into the last quarter we had the momentum unfortunately Doveton kicked the first goal from the first centre bounce , this happened in the 1st, 2nd and 4th quarters. We then found ourselves 2 goals behind in a blink of an eye. However in true Warriors fashion we didn't give up and got the momentum back again but just couldn't put it on the score board. In the end we lost by 2 goals.

I don't think we played anywhere near our potential, we were just beaten by a more organised team in Doveton.
