MATCH REPORT

Round 6 we crossed the Westgate and headed out to Werribee with a warm welcome assured! Struggling for numbers due to unavailability and injuries we kicked off with support from reserves and over 50s. We ran the ball well and appeared to have most of the play in the first half. Bomber, Trav and Louey were creating with some smart play and switching, Matt and Himan defended strongly and set up many rebounds but we were unable to convert on the scoreboard. Werribee converted a couple towards the end of the second quarter , we went in to the sheds 2 goal behind at half time in a low scoring affair after controlling most of the play.

In the third quarter we stayed with Werribee until half way through when they started to get on top and run, outs and injuries plus some strong tackling started to take their toll but we were still a chance to press them but we couldn't convert our opportunities as well as we gave up a few easy mistake goals during the 3 quarters which were most of the difference up till three quarter time

With 4 goals behind we scored early but like most of the day couldn't seem to get going through the centre corridor, they continued to force us wide and on such a big ground this forced mistakes - Werribee ramped up their running and pushed the ball forward out of the centre continuing to have shots at goal while running out the game

Good effort from everyone with our resources available. When you sit back and look at the game in retrospect they took their opportunities when they availed themselves. To have a chance of playing finals we will need every possible player fit and ready to play the next 4 games
