MATCH REPORT

Round 7 saw the over 50's venture to Greensborough and once again play Plenty Valley.

Warriors dominated play in the first quarter yet not only could we not convert but we gave two goals away with silly acts. Quarter time 1.7.13 to 1.0.6.

A couple of early goals early in the second saw the lead stretch out however, in the second half of the 2nd quarter the tide started to turn. 3.10.28 to 1.2.8 at half time.

The third quarter confirmed the Coaches fear and Plenty Valley quickly piled on 3 goals, followed by a stale mate for the last few minutes. Scores level at 29 apiece. It would be fair say the Coach was not happy and put it on the team to make a special effort and not throw away a game that should have been well and truly done and dusted.

The intensity certainly lifted in the last quarter and they scored the first goal to take a 4 point lead. At the 12 minute mark a good team passage of play left the ball in the hands of Mitch who steadied and kicked the winning goal from 40 metres or so. The back line, as it had done all day, stood firm and a very much relieved team and Coach celebrated a 2 point victory. Final scores 4.13.37 to 4.5.29.
