MATCH REPORT

Warriors Over 50's ventured to Narre Warren (our second home) on Sunday in what on paper looked like an even, indeed winnable, contest against new team Frankston in Round 10.

With a few key players out and a few on the bench probably not 100% fit, and with losing the toss and having one player totally dominant the first quarter with the breeze, we found ourselves behind 2.2.14 to 0.2.2 at quarter time. The placing of super tagger and nuisance Gazzalenko onto their prime mover evened up the contest and at half time we trailed 1.2.8 to 2.4.16.

The Coach tried a stirring speech at half time to emphasis the frustration in respect to losing a winnable game and at 3/4 time the game was in the balance and we were just behind at 2.3.15 to 2.6.18. During the last quarter another one of the opposition talls stood up and dominated and we unfortunately lost Marko to another episode of heart trouble. In the end the opposition was too good, final score Warriors 2.6.18 versus Frankston 4.8. 32.
